Spotlight: The United States
The United States is a vast and diverse nation, home to people from all walks of life who contribute to its dynamic culture. Its geography spans majestic mountains, sweeping plains, vibrant cities, and iconic coastlines. This variety has inspired generations of artists, filmmakers, and musicians to capture the American spirit in countless forms. The United States is the home of a large portion of our artists and as such will always have a warm place in our hearts.
Our spotlight on the United States allows you to find a series of artworks and limited edition prints inspired by the country. We’ve been fortunate enough to send artists from all over the world to places like Camp Wandawega in the Midwest, on road trips through New Mexico, to small towns such as Joseph, and big cities like Denver and Los Angeles. Below you can find a selection of prints inspired by the beautiful country of the United States.

About Jess Ackerman
While born in the Silicon Valley, and raised by The Internet, the artist Jess Ackerman has chosen the city of Portland, Oregon, as their home town. In their studio, this self taught visual artist is primarily focused on painting, but also no stranger to working with clay or wood. Their use of bold motifs with hints of nostalgia and playful colorful vignettes often can’t mask the artist’s own joyful nihilistic outlook on our commodified daily lives.

West from the city of Seattle, you’ll find the Olympic National Park, and just below the National Park you will find the small city of Shelton. The land was previously called ‘Cota’ and was inhabited and managed by the Squaxin Island Tribe, later called Sheltonville when it was officially incorporated in 1890, and nowadays just Shleton. With a long tradition in logging and lumber milling, and the abundance of fire and pine trees growing in the area, it explains why the city is also referred to as Christmastown, USA.

Stretching all the way from Los Angeles up to Seattle, and even further up north to Vancouver, you can find the train tracks of the Coast Starlight Train. By all accounts a pretty epic train ride up the West Coast of the United States, with special observatory carriages on the train. While the last part from Seattle to Vancouver is technically not part of the Coast Starlight Train, it does perhaps provide the most scenic scenes while driving right by the coast line on its way up to Canada.

AboutWasted Rita
During the course of her artistic practice Wasted Rita has been exploring her love-hate relationship with life and her surrounding world. Dubbing herself as a Natural Born Agent Provocateur, she likes to think, write and draw without filter, resulting in little gems of sarcastic wisdom dipped in acid which reflect on an unconventional upbringing in a Catholic school to the sounds of Black Flag. Her creative process ranges from sculptural objects, installations, paintings, drawings and writing, using her unique voice to give form to her mordant observations and poetic invectives on human behaviour and contemporary culture.

About Nate Harris
Pushing the boundaries of the traditional woodcut printing technique, Nate Harris has developed a unique approach to woodcut relief, which transcends throughout his entire creative process. This process of continuous studio experimentation resulted in Nate arriving at places where he had not originally imagined.
