Hand Embellished prints

Hand embellished prints, or sometimes also called hand finished prints, are right in between a print and an original. Each piece begins with the original silkscreen print, and is then individually worked by the artists themselves. They draw, paint, collage, or use whatever other way they see fit to rework the original print. No two are ever exactly the same. Subtle shifts in brushstroke, texture, and detail mean that every print carries its own character, its own moment of attention.

Below you can find an overview of the Hand Embellished prints created by our artists over the years.

Cody Hudson

Destination: Jeju Island, South Korea
Date: 27-31 August, 2024

About Cody Hudson
Working right in between the two worlds of art and design, Cody Hudson knows as no other how to create fine balance between the two. Destination: Shelton, Washington, USA

West from the city of Seattle, you’ll find the Olympic National Park, and just below the National Park you will find the small city of Shelton. The land was previously called ‘Cota’ and was inhabited and managed by the Squaxin Island Tribe, later called Sheltonville when it was officially incorporated in 1890, and nowadays just Shleton. With a long tradition in logging and lumber milling, and the abundance of fire and pine trees growing in the area, it explains why the city is also referred to as Christmastown, USA.

This is our very first Winter Camp, and we are proud to collaborate together with Hashimoto Contemporary on this new exciting venture. Aside from the prints, each artist will create a body of original works inspired by their experiences during the Winter Camp, resulting in a group exhibition opening on the 7th of December at Hashimoto San Francisco.

About Nate Harris
Pushing the boundaries of the traditional woodcut printing technique, Nate Harris has developed a unique approach to woodcut relief, which transcends throughout his entire creative process. This process of continuous studio experimentation resulted in Nate arriving at places where he had not originally imagined.
