Spotlight exhibition: South africa
Friday, 24 October, 2025
South Africa, at the southern tip of the African continent, is a land of striking contrasts—where savannas meet mountains, and wild coastlines stretch beneath vast, open skies. Johannesburg is the home of artists Karabo Poppy and Seth Pimentel and is a city of reinvention where the past and future collide in bold, creative energy. The city pulses with art galleries in repurposed warehouses, jazz echoing through Maboneng’s streets, and murals that turn concrete into living stories. Unlike other cities, its creativity is raw, unpolished, and deeply rooted in history—born from resistance, shaped by migration, and driven by the need to be seen and heard. Here, young designers, poets, and filmmakers are reshaping identity with every canvas, beat, and lens.
Our spotlight exhibition on South Africa exhibits the work of three South African artist that we’ve had the pleasure of working with, Seth Pimentel, Karabo Poppy, and Elléna Lourens. With each their distinctive style, they showcase original paintings on paper, drawings and their silkscreen prints inspired by the trips that they’ve taken with The Jaunt.
We hope you can join us for the exhibition opening on Friday the 24th of October at our own showroom in Aarhus, Denmark.
