About Cleon Peterson
The strength and power of Cleon Peterson’s art is undeniable. His chaotic and violent paintings show clashing figures in a struggle between power and submission in the fluctuating architecture of contemporary society. Cleon’s art is a powerful vision of the darkest impulses of contemporary society. From paintings on canvas to architecturally-scaled murals to bronze sculptures, prints and other editions. Throughout his work he explores structures of power, submission and violence, often depicting archetypal figures locked in battle or engaged in acts of brutality.

Destination: Galápagos Islands
A long way off the coast of Ecuador you can find the Galápagos islands, a volcanic archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. Its isolated terrain is home to a diversity of plant and animal species that is unlike any other place in the world. Between the 17th and 18th centuries the islands served as a sanctuary and hideaway for pirates and whalers. In 1835 Charles Darwin visited the islands, and his observations formed the inspiration for his Theory of Evolution.
